The 18M project meeting was held in Barcelona on 3 and 4 July and researchers emphasized the achievements made during the last months and highlighted the plans for the near future.

Last week, the PHOTOTHERAPORT project team met at the Institute of Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) in Barcelona for the project’s 18-month meeting. Over the course of two days, the team engaged in fruitful discussions to define the next steps in our photopharmacology strategy: the use of light-emitting implants and photo-controlled drugs to treat neuropathic pain and epilepsy.
The first day was dedicated to the scientific aspect, with presentations from all the partners. The coordinator, Pau Gorostiza, began with a presentation outlining the project’s goals and current status. Each partner then shared their latest results and outlined their future plans.
The second day focused more on management, including the latest activities related to communication and dissemination, data management and exploitation, and the next steps in these work packages.
This meeting has laid the foundations for what will undoubtedly be a very successful second half of the project.
